Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Edmonton Oilers vs St. Louis Blues

Jan 31, 2020, 14:42 EST
The Oilers hit the ice for their first of two games this weekend as they host the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Oilers have had a really tough time beating the Blues as of late. In their last five matchups, the Oilers have just one win and it came in a shootout. Despite their tough record against the Blues, there’s reason to be somewhat optimistic about this matchup. If you take out empty-net goals, both of their games this season have been decided by one goal and in each of those games, the Oilers came very close to tieing the game up late. Tonight will be interesting.
The @St. Louis Blues will be playing their third of four games in Western Canada tonight. They beat the @Calgary Flames but lost to the @Vancouver Canucks to start the trip and actually have just one win in their last four games.
The injury bug has hit the Oilers as the team placed both @Joakim Nygard (hand) and @Kris Russell (concussion) on injured reserve last night. They recalled @Tyler Benson and @William Lagesson but due to travel, neither player will draw into the lineup. I go through the expected lineup and the starting goaltenders in the Pre Game Podcast (pres. by YEG Burger).
