It’s Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today’s podcast, the fellas discussed Tristan Jarry’s injury, the Oilers’ recall of Isaac Howard and Quinn Hutson, additional injury updates, line combos, and more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Connor McDavid’s 17-game point streak and whether this is the best the boys have ever seen him play. Given that the captain has produced a mind-boggling 41 points over that stretch is absolutely ridiculous, but is this the best hockey he’s ever played? There are a few options to choose from. Regardless of your thoughts, there is little doubt that No. 97 has gone supernova, and none of us wants him to walk away from the table.
Shifting gears, the guys looked at Thursday’s win over the Jets and how Winnipeg looked so shell-shocked as the game rolled along. Given that the Oilers were down 3-1 after 20 minutes and came roaring back to win, you have to appreciate the way the boys didn’t fold their hand. And while some argue that they should beat the Jets because of how bad they are, expecting to win and fighting back from a 3-1 deficit are two different things.
Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season now past the halfway mark, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.
