Happy Friday, everybody! We’re back with a playoff preview episode of Oilersnation Radio to get you set for the weekend and the first round of the playoffs that’s set to go on Wednesday. On this week’s show, we looked at the upcoming matchup against the Jets, offered a few playoff predictions, looked at our own keys to victory, and a whole lot more.
To kick off this week’s episode, we got started with a discussion about which player on the Oilers’ roster that we think could turn into the 2021 edition of Fernando Pisani? Amazingly, none of us had the same answer as we all saw different reasons to pick four different players to fill that role. From there, we looked at what the Oilers need to do to beat the Jets in their opening series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Needless to say, having the boys run through Winnipeg to the tone of a 7-2 season series win has given many of us confidence, but what details do the Oilers need to execute to keep the good times rolling? We also discussed whether or not we think Dave Tippett will go back to Mike Smith in their back-to-back games in games three and four of this series. From there, we gave our series predictions for all four divisions and took a few guesses as for which series winners were all but locked in. We also announced that we will be starting to do two episodes per week of ON Radio throughout the playoffs, starting on Tuesday, May 18th.
