It&#8217;s game day for the Edmonton Oilers as they continue their eastern Canadian road trip, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio.
The guys started the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about what is the most concerning aspect of the Oilers&#8217; struggles right now. Whether it&#8217;s goaltending needing to improve, concerns about the defence, or the forwards being unable to score, the debate about what&#8217;s actually the biggest problem was all over the map. Needless to say, the boys all had different opinions about what&#8217;s the biggest problem right now, but at the same time, they all seem to connect somehow.
Changing gears, we looked at the Oilers&#8217; defensive situation with <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/11/18/darnell-nurse-wont-play-against-habs-or-sens-oilers-dont-expect-defender-will-be-out-long-term/">Darnell Nurse on the shelf for 5-10 days</a> after taking that <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/11/17/nhl-player-safety-explains-decision-to-suspend-ryan-reaves-five-games-for-hit-on-darnell-nurse/">brutal hit from Ryan Reaves</a>. With Nurse out of the lineup, the defensive issues have gotten worse and it certainly doesn&#8217;t help that Evan Bouchard is struggling mightily and directly responsible for so many mistakes over the last handful of games. No matter how you slice it, the defensive coverage has been an adventure lately and it&#8217;s not all that surprising the boys focused on it for a healthy chunk of time.
Finally, the squad wrapped up the Tuesday podcast with some betting talk, keys to victory for beating the Senators, and offered up a score prediction ahead of tonight&#8217;s game at the Canadian Tire Centre. Given that the <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/11/19/gdb-20-0-oilers-and-senators-have-similar-concerns-5pm-sportsnet/">Oilers and Senators</a> are both working through varying inconsistencies, their first of two meetings on the season could be prove to be a big one. That said, if the Oilers plan to win this one then they&#8217;ll need a much better effort than what we got on Monday in Montreal.
