Another week is wrapping up and that means a fresh episode of the Real Life Podcast is set and ready to get you set for the weekend. On today’s show, the guys looked at COVID’s anniversary, spoke to Jason Strudwick about the Oilers’ success over the Sens, and welcomed Scott Hastings from OddsShark to break down the latest NHL news and what’s going on in the world of sports gambling.
To kick things off, Tyler and Baggedmilk got started with a look back at the last year as today is the anniversary of when COVID-19 really started changing things around us. From the NBA shutting down during the Oilers/Jets game to toilet paper hoarders making TP mountains in their basement, it goes without saying that the past 12 months have been stranger than either of the boys could have ever expected. With that out of the way, Jason Strudwick joined the show to talk about the Oilers’ current heater and how much has changed since last week’s debacle against the Maple Leafs. The guys also asked Struds about McDrai remaining together and whether or not he thinks Dave Tippett will keep the dynamic duo together long term. From there, Cooom joined the podcast to talk about the Oilers’ defence and took a few swings at how Ken Holland will approach some of the pending free agents on the roster as well as the upcoming expansion draft. Needless to say, the Oilers will have an array of interesting decisions to make over the next few months and it will be endlessly fascinating to see how those choices shake out. Finally, the guys wrapped up today’s podcast by welcoming Scott Hastings from OddsShark to help break down the latest betting trends from the NHL, recap the Super Bowl, and the latest news in the world of sports.
