After a perfect homestand, the Oilers hit the road for the start of a brief two-game trip. They’ll be in Colorado tonight taking on an Avalanche team that sits at the very top of the Western Conference. The Oilers are playing their best hockey of 2022 right now, but tonight is a very difficult test for them. The Avalanche have won three in a row and they have a 24-3-3 record on home ice this season. They’re very good. Caroline and I started The Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show by looking at what the Oilers did off the ice today since it was the NHL Trade Deadline. The Oilers made a pair of moves and definitely got better, but did Holland do enough? We talked about it on the show!

The Avalanche were also busy, although none of the new players acquired today are expected to be in the lineup. They’re a legit Stanley Cup contender and they acted like it today. The Oilers will need to bring their A+ game to Colorado if they want a chance to win this game. We went through the expected lines, starting goalies, and I gave my betting report today on the show!
