The Edmonton Oilers have invited three women to join their 27-person development camp.
They’re among the 14 forwards, eight defencemen, and five goaltenders the team will bring to Edmonton this week.
Abbey Murphy, a forward, and Chloe Primerano, a defenceman, spent last season with the NCAA’s University of Minnesota, while Caitlin Kraemer, a forward, played for the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Murphy, 24, scored 40 goals and 66 points in 31 games last year, adding two goals and seven games, winning a gold medal with the American women’s Olympic hockey team at the Olympics. She was drafted second overall by the PWHL’s Seattle Torrent in this year’s draft. Primerano, 19, scored 10 goals and 30 points in 34 games, while Kraemer had 15 goals and 30 points in 36 games.
The Oilers had other camp invites, too, including forward Weston Cameron, and goaltender Johnny Hicks.
Cameron, 18, was draft eligible this year but didn’t get selected. He spent last year with the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers, scoring six goals and 16 points, and is committed to the NCAA’s University of Massachusetts for the 2026-27 season. Hicks, 20, spent last season with the NCAA’s University of Denver, posting a 16-0-1 record, a .957 save percentage and a 1.19 goals-against average.
The development camp roster is littered with Oilers draftees, including all five members of their 2026 class: Rudolfs Berzkalns, Malcom Gästrin, Caden Harvey, Andrew Robinson, and Ryan Cameron.
Other draftees include forwards Connor Clattenburg, Tommy Lafreniere, David Lewandowski, William Nicholl, Aidan Park, and Daylyn Wakely, defencemen Beau Akey, Asher Barnett, and Bauer Berry, as well as goaltenders Nathaniel Day, and Daniel Salonen.
Other Oilers prospects the club has signed as free agents will also attend camp, including forwards Owen Michaels, and Brady Stonehouse, defencemen Damien Carfagna, and Tomas Cibulka, and goaltender Connor Ungar.
Development camp will take place from June 30 to July 2 at Rogers Place this week.
