Switching up the usual Wednesday routine, I jumped on the Cruz airwaves with the boys at The Locker Room a day early to discuss all things Edmonton Oilers while also checking in on this crazy little thing called life.
To kick off this week’s appearance, we jumped in with a look at the handful of Oilers that got back on the ice for voluntary workouts yesterday and what that means for the upcoming NHL season. Obviously, we still don’t have any confirmation about when the new season will kick off, but you’d have to think that it’s good news to see the boys getting back on the ice at Rogers Place. Either way, if the NHL is truly planning to start their next season in January then we’re going to need some updates about what that’s going to look like and we’re going to need them sooner than later. Changing gears, we then looked at Ethan Bear’s contract situation and discussed whether there’s anything to be worried about when you consider that he hasn’t signed yet. For me, I think it’s only a matter of time before a new deal gets announced but what will be interesting is seeing what the contract looks like in terms of money and term. Lastly, we wrapped up the segment by looking at a rumour Lochlin had heard about Corey Perry potentially landing in Canada and what that would mean for whichever team picks him up.
