The offseason rolls on for another week and a fresh Wednesday meant another chance for your boy to jump on the radio with the guys from The Locker Room to discuss all things hockey and life in general. This week, we recapped the Stanley Cup Finals, looked ahead at next season, and speculated on Henrik Lundqvist’s future now that his time in New York has officially come to an end.
To start off today’s appearance, we jumped in with a look at life’s simplest pleasures, including some of the finer moments that we may not always appreciate as they happen. From there, we looked at the Stanley Cup Finals wrapping up on Monday and offered a moment of appreciation to the NHL for being able to pull this thing off. That said, we’re still waiting for further details regarding what next season will look like, and the NHL doesn’t have a whole lot of time to get this done provided they’re actually going to get started in December or January. We also discussed whether or not this year’s version of the Stanley Cup means any less than it otherwise would, or if it was any “easier” to win because of the circumstances. Lastly, we looked at Henrik Lundqvist being bought out by the Rangers this morning and whether or not the Oilers would have any interest in signing the former Vezina Trophy winner.
