On Friday, the Edmonton Oilers announced that goaltender Tristan Jarry has been placed on injured reserve, while netminder Connor Ingram has been recalled from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors. They also shared that forward Jack Roslovic has been moved to long-term injured reserve.
The roster moves between the pipes come after Jarry left Thursday night’s game against the Boston Bruins during the second period due to a lower-body injury. He appeared to suffer the injury while making a sliding save. According to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector, he’s flying back to Edmonton to be evaluated by doctors. Due to the IR designation, Jarry would not be eligible to play for the Oilers until next Saturday against the Calgary Flames, but there is no word yet on the severity of his injury or a timeline for his return.
Jarry was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins last week in a blockbuster deal that saw the departure of Stuart Skinner. Upon his arrival, there was concern about the possibility of his past injury troubles returning. Since becoming an Oiler, Jarry has appeared in three games, posting a 3-0-0 record and an .887 SV%.
In Jarry’s place, Ingram is coming to Edmonton for the first time since he was acquired from the Utah Mammoth in October. With the Oilers set to play back-to-back games this weekend, the 28-year-old will likely soon make his debut with the team. In 11 appearances with the Condors this season, Ingram has a 4-5-2 record, with an .856 SV% and a 4.04 GAA. He last appeared in the NHL in February with the Mammoth, but stepped away from the team to deal with personal issues.
Meanwhile, Roslovic has been out since late November, when he suffered an injury from a blocked shot against the Dallas Stars. At the time it was reported he would miss several weeks, and now it looks like he may be out even longer, as he joins Jake Walman, Noah Philp, and Kasperi Kapanen on LTIR. Roslovic signed a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Oilers in October and was looking like a great value add for the team until his injury, scoring 10 goals and totalling 18 points in 23 games played.
