It’s happened! It’s finally happened. The Oilers hottest defensive prospect at the moment has scored his first NHL goal and it was a beautiful one to say the least.
On his 13th NHL game, Ethan Bear has potted his first NHL goal on the powerplay. First of all, Connor McDavid’s pass actually made me say “wow” out loud. Bear then finished the beautiful pass off with a one-timer that goes top shelf giving Gibson absolutely no chance of stopping it. To make things better, this was the go-ahead goal for the Oilers with under ten minutes left to play in the game.
Bear has been quite the pleasant surprise since he was called up for the Oilers a few weeks ago. He’s got a lot of work to do, especially in the defensive end, but he’s definitely made his mark on the power play. Bear has gotten comfortable at the top of the first-line powerplay unit while being allowed to shoot as much as his heart desires. Tonight all that power play time finally paid off as he potted a goal that he’ll never forget.
It appears Ethan had a ton of fans and family in the stands tonight as well which makes this goal even more special.
