The Oilers got out to a big lead on the shot clock but it took until the final five minutes of the first period for them to break through. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins feathered a nice pass through traffic and Evan Bouchard roofed a shot over Marc-Andre Fleury from the faceoff dot.
The Wild came flying out of the gates in the second period and scored twice in just 41 seconds to take a 2-1 lead. The first goal came when Joel Eriksson Ek parked himself in front of Stuart Skinner and Matt Boldy was able to bury a rebound.

The Wild took the lead again later in the second period. Connor Dewar was able to find space alone in the slot and fired a one-timer past Stuart Skinner after Ryan Hartman threw a pass out front.
From there, Edmonton’s power play took over. Late in the second period while Mats Zuccarello was in the penalty box for holding the stick, Leon Draisaitl fired a one-timer past Fleury to tie the game at 3-3.
A perfect one-timer by Leon Draisaitl. 😍
Evander Kane lured Ryan Hartman into taking a roughing penalty early in the third period and the power play once again capitalized. Leon Draisaitl teed Evan Bouchard up at the point for a one-timer and he fired it through Fleury to put the Oilers back on top. They would close the door the rest of the way and win by that same score.
