<p>The Minnesota Wild dropped the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night by a score of 4-2, handing the team back-to-back losses for the first time since the calendar flipped to 2024.</p>

<p>The Wild opened the scoring with 23 seconds left in the first period after a sluggish start to the game from both teams. Minnesota Defenceman Jacob Middleton carried the puck into Edmonton&#8217;s zone and dished it off for Matt Boldy, who fired a shot from the high slot through Calvin Pickard.</p>

After Connor McDavid rung a shot off of the crossbar, he fed Leon Draisaitl for a one-timer that was ripped past goaltender Filip Gustavsson to make the score 1-1.</p>
