Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Game Three vs Montreal

Jan 16, 2021, 13:15 ESTUpdated: Jan 16, 2021, 13:03 EST
Well, game two of the season was a lot more fun than game one! The Oilers followed up a disappointing performance in their season opener with a very solid game on Thursday night and brought themselves back to .500 on the year. Obviously, Connor McDavid is getting a lot of love for his four-point performance and his highlight-reel goal but there were plenty of other positives from the Oilers 5-2 win. I went over them in today’s pod!
As for tonight’s game, history is certainly on the Oilers’ side in this matchup as they have not lost to the Montreal Canadiens in regulation in the last three seasons. The Habs are also coming off a disappointing loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in their season opener and will be looking to rebound in their second game of the year. If you missed it, they blew a 3-1 lead and eventually lost the game in OT.
I went through the lineups, talked about the Oilers’ complicated goaltending situation, and previewed the game from a betting perspective today in the Pre-Game Podcast (brought to you by YEG Burger & Nation Beer)!
