It all comes down to this. The top 5 fights of the 2017-18 season. It was the lowest output in the NHL’s history for a year. With 280 fights this year, there was a 7% drop from the previous year’s total fights (372)
This past week you got to see the top 10th down to 6 fights of the year.
Coming in at number 5:

5 – Chris Stewart vs Kurtis MacDermid

Dec 5, 2017

Not a huge fan of the staged fights, but man is this a hell of a bout.

4 – Matt Martin vs Nathan Beaulieu

Mar 15, 2018

If you can make Martin’s knees buckle, you belong at the top of the charts.

3 – Chris Stewart vs Chris Thorburn

Nov 25, 2017

Anthony Stewart ladies and gents. Three total fights this year, and two of them end up in the top 5. Well done.

2 – Garnet Hathaway vs Brenden Dillon

Mar 24, 2018

A tale of two fights really. Dillon avoids the big punch initially, and then unloads on Garnet. Then at the mid-way point, the Flames big man gets his.
It comes down to this. The best fight of the season comes down to Minnesota and Detroit. An unreal exchange of shots.
What do you think of the ranking? One of the fights better than the others? Let me know in the comments below.

Previously in the Top 25:

Number 25 to 21

Number 20 to 16

Number 15 to 11

Number 10 to 6
