<p>The Edmonton Oilers&#8217; active opening day of free agency has continued into the night, as the Oilers have signed forward <a href="https://oilersnation.com/2024/06/12/oilers-veterans-adam-henrique-corey-perry-relishing-in-another-stanley-cup-finals-appearance/">Adam Henrique</a> to a two-year contract.</p>

<p>The deal will see Henrique earn $3-million, according to <em>Daily Faceoff&#8217;s</em> Frank Seravalli.</p>

<p>Henrique, 34, joined the Oilers at the NHL trade deadline alongside Sam Carrick, appearing in 22 regular season games down the stretch run of the season, scoring six goals and nine points. Despite an ankle injury hampering him for much of the Oilers&#8217; second-round series against the Vancouver Canucks, Rico appeared in 17 playoff games, scoring four goals and seven points, including game-winning goals in Games 4 and 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.</p>
<p>During the playoffs, he, Mattias Janmark and Connor Brown — all of whom signed new deals with the Oilers Monday — formed a line that was a key for them in their comeback against the Panthers. While they struggled to drive play in terms of shot attempt share and other underlying numbers, they outscored the Panthers 2-1 at five-on-five. They managed to bend, but not break.</p>
<p>A veteran of 912 NHL games, Henrique had played in just 28 playoff games in his 14-year career prior to joining the Oilers. Now, he&#8217;ll have another chance to run it back with the team in hopes of not only making it to the Stanley Cup Finals, but hoisting Lord Stanley&#8217;s Mug.</p>
