Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
Today is the Seattle Kraken expansion draft day and things already started out with a bang as Frank Seravalli reported that the Oilers would be losing Adam Larsson, which is obviously a massive blow to the team’s defensive group. And while many local scribes predicted that Larsson would be back in Edmonton, Larsson moves on to a new opportunity and makes Ken Holland’s job that much more difficult. One name that did make the protected list was Zack Kassian and that made some Oilers fans scratch their heads about why, but according to reports from earlier in the week, protecting the rugged forward may be a part of a larger deal that is yet to come. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a chat about Carey Price being a potential target for the Kraken, only to have the segment end and news break that he would be staying in Montreal after all. That’s the timing of doing a radio hit on expansion day, friends.
